On Saturday 21st September, we hosted our third macrame workshop with Sara Chamberlain from Tibbles Studio! The lucky participants will be able to choose their own colour from the wide selection that Sara will have on offer. They can even bring their own piece of straight driftwood to add another personal touch to their creation! If you are interested in future dates for this great workshop then please fill out the contact form!

In advance of the the big day, we found out a bit more about our lovely teacher Sara!

Tell us a bit of you!

I'm from Jervis Bay. I spent my younger years in Ulladulla and  high school years in Bomaderry. I spent my 20's travelling and living in Victoria, Queensland and New South Wales and finally settled back in Jervis Bay where I have been raising my 3 children and puppy Leo.

How did your macrame journey start? what drew you to it? Where did you learn?

I started seeing macramé pop up online and wanted to give it a go myself. I took a workshop and from there went home and practiced a lot. I love that when I am making a piece, you can just zone out and let your hands do the work.I don't pre-plan what I am going to make. I keep creating knots until I'm happy with a finished piece.

What do you wish participants to take away from the workshop?

I hope that all participants are able to leave the workshop feeling inspired and confident to begin creating their own special pieces at home.

What crafty projects are you currently working on and what's your next macrame challenge?

My next macramé challenge I have been working on, is creating macramé flowers, vines and leaves. I'm trying to add more 3D volume into my pieces and become quicker at creating the flowers as they require a lot of knots.
