Macrame Wall Hanging: First solo attempt: dyed shibori short wall hanging

Updated: Dec 13, 2018

Following the Old House macrame workshop, I had some Macrame cotton left over and was inspired by this pattern on Pinterest.

I made the rookie mistake of not measuring enough cord (the guide I have since found is to use 4 times the length of the piece you wish to create) but I liked the result especially after dying the piece.

I dyed the piece using a Shibori kit I bought from Dharma Trading in the States (buy two at a time, it's more economical!) following the advice of Jenny at Indigo Daze who also does workshops locally. I think the colour and different shades really brings out the pattern of the hanging. Have you tried something like this before?
